Nike released images of its new U.S. women’s track and field outfits for the upcoming Paris Olympic Games to pointed criticism from female athletes who decried the unnecessarily revealing design. Former elite long distance runner Lauren Fleshman commented that women “should be able to compete without the mental gymnastics of having every vulnerable piece of your body on display.”
Nike issued a statement defending the revealing uniforms, saying they were part of an array of options designed to offer athletes “a range of silhouettes tailored for various sport disciplines, body types and sizes.” But many women athletes were not assuaged. Fleshman noted that Nike’s revealing women’s uniform is “not an elite athletic kit. If this outfit was truly beneficial to physical performance, men would wear it.”

These female athletes have worked hard to make it to this level. Why should they be objectified by having to compete in a uniform that doesn't respect their bodies and achievments. I am saddened that this even has to be a conversation. Give them something to compete in that is comfortable. How about, oh I don't know, asking for their input on what would be most comfortable??????
The crotch area (obviously on the women's one) is way too revealing. It looks like it's barely covering it! That's how I know a man made these.
The uniform should be on the same lines at the mens. Whats with the sexy look. Show some respect for the women athlete. Bet a man designed these.
The pink one is ridiculous! Looks so uncomfortable & too revealing. The blue one is ok
