In a world where our reproductive healthcare has become a battleground, hijacked by extreme political views, it's time we, as women, take a stand to reclaim our voices. The recent upheaval following the overturning of Roe v. Wade is not just a political issue; it’s a women’s issue that touches the core of our rights and our health. Women2Women is a bi-partisan organization, and we believe in a fundamental truth: women have more in common with each other than with any political party. Our unity is our strength, and when we let ourselves be divided, we lose our collective power.
Our stance on women's reproductive healthcare is about finding a middle ground that respects the sanctity of human life while ensuring every woman's right to basic healthcare. We’ve listened to women across the country and found that, regardless of whether they are pro-life or pro-choice, most are willing to find common ground. Most women can agree that all treatment options should be available for complications from nonviable pregnancies: that women should not be forbidden from making reproductive health decisions because they did not yet know they were pregnant; and that late-term abortions should only be considered if the life or the physical health of the mother is at risk. .
Women across the country now have vastly different reproductive healthcare options depending on the state they live in. We believe in establishing a minimum threshold for every state in America that reflects this common ground. That means a balanced approach where reproductive healthcare decisions are made by doctors and patients up to 16 weeks of pregnancy, and at any time when the mother’s life or physical health is at risk. This isn't about politics; it's about our health, our rights, and our lives.
No one is speaking for the vast majority of women who are willing to find common ground on this issue. We need to raise our voices now. A movement of women who stand together, who believe in making informed, compassionate decisions about their health, and who refuse to be sidelined in discussions that directly impact their lives.
